Stratford Archers invites all new comers to our club. Training Courses are arranged periodically throughout the year and details are posted on this page. Unless a person is an experienced archer, this only way to become a shooting member.

Course Beginners Course - 6 weeks 
Group Adults and Juniors 
Commencement Date The date for the next course has not been finalized yet but will in the Autumn 2008

Location Shipston High School and The Home Guard Club in Tiddington. 
Prices Adults £40.00 Juniors £35.00. 
Equipment All equipment for training courses is supplied by the club

These courses are run by volunteer club members who are qualified to a minimum of GNAS level 1 coaching qualification. At times they may be helped by other club members who are deemed to be experienced archers.

All equipment is provided by Stratford Archers. A bracer and tab is included in the course fee.

The course lasts 6 weeks in all and covers the following topics:-
Safety
Whistle commands
Warm up and cool down excercises
Basic point of aim technique
Use of take down recurve bows and sights
Scoring
Demonstration of other bow types

It is recommended that close fitting clothing be warn suitable for the conditions ie outdoors. Long hair should be tied back.

Juniors may not enrol on the course unless they are aged 9 or above. As archery can be a dangerous sport juniors should be accompanied by an adult at all times, the adult does not have to be on the course. Any junior remains the responsibility of their parent or guardian.

Stratford Archers follows a strict safety code and any person found to be in breach of this may be asked to leave the course.
