Stratford Archers invite all new comers to our club. Training Courses are arranged periodically throughout the year and details are posted on this page. Unless a person is an experienced archer, this is the only way to become a shooting member.

Course Beginners Course in Target Archery 
Group Adults and Juniors 
Start Date 25th April 2012 
Duration 6 weeks 
Location The Home Guard Club in Tiddington. 
Prices Seniors £70, Juniors £40 
Equipment All equipment for training courses is supplied by the club 
Availability Limited to 12 places

To apply for a beginners course, please download and complete the following form and return to the contact shown above.

The courses are run by volunteer club members who are qualified to a minimum of GNAS level 1 coaching qualification. At times they may be helped by other club members who are experienced archers.

All equipment is provided by Stratford Archers.

The course covers the following topics:-
Safety
Whistle commands
Warm up and cool down excercises
Basic point of aim technique
Use of take down recurve bows and sights
Scoring
Demonstration of other bow types

We recommend that close fitting clothing be worn suitable for the conditions ie outdoors. Long hair should be tied back.

Juniors may enrol on the course only if they are aged 9 or above. Our child protection polidcy requires that juniors aged 9-16 should be accompanied by an adult at all times, the adult does not have to be on the course. Juniors aged 16-18 must provide parental consent to attend the course without the company of an adult. Any junior remains the responsibility of their parent or guardian.

The completed form sould be handed to the lead coach at the first session.


Stratford Archers follows a strict safety code and any person found to be in breach of this may be asked to leave the course.
